Manchali (1973)

Hindu praying spaces are meant for wooing women

Manchali (1973)

For the longest time, Bollywood has been promoting this disgusting idea that any setting that Hindus use to express Bhakti (temples, bhajans) can be used by the hero to tease, harass or hit on a woman.

Every Bollywood hero is allowed to behave disgracefully during puja, bhajan or any other prayer setting that involves Hindus.

Take this scene from Manchali (1973). Sanjeev Kumar sings a mockery of a bhajan just to win over Leena Chandavarkar.

In Urduwood, bhajans are legit ways for romantic fun and targeting girls without consent

But ever saw a scene where someone is having similar fun while offering Namaz?
